Bunions

A bunion, also known as Hallux Valgus, is a deformity of the joint between the first metatarsal bone and the big toe (Hallux). A bunion can be surrounded by an inflamed fluid-filled space under the skin called a bursa. The joint protrudes because the big toe is bent away at an angle, pushing into the other toes and causing them to bend unnaturally.
